There has been a slight schedule change for the game to be played between Lubbock Cooper and Stephenville. The game was originally scheduled for Saturday, September 20, and Cooper Athletic Director John Windham told Double T 1043 it has been moved to 8 pm on Thursday, September 18 for television scheduling. The game will be televised on one of the ESPN family of networks.

It will be a rematch of last season's 3A state quarterfinal game when now-5A Cooper squares off with 4A Stephenville on the gridiron this fall. The Stephenville Yellow Jackets won the playoff game last season 42-28. The Pirates are coming off of their best postseason in school history during Coach Max Kattwinkel's first season at the helm.
