James is entertainment editor for FOX 34 News, and managing editor and anchor of Good Day Lubbock.
A native of the Hub City, James graduated from Texas Tech, where he spent all four years in school covering the entertainment beat for The University Daily.
He won several awards for his writing, including Best Opinion Review by the Southwestern Journalism Congress and Best Columnist of the Year two years in a row.
He thought he would stay in the newspaper business permanently, but was thrilled to join FOX 34 in October 2007 as the Entertainment Editor and weekend producer.
James believes Lubbock's art community is a key facet to making this wonderful city unique. He's proud FOX 34 dedicates the most air time of any news station to emphasizing local talent, including theater, art exhibits, music and movies.
When James is not at work, you can usually find him at the movies scribbling in a notepad (which, really, is also work), or sitting at a local coffee shop with his nose buried in a book.
James married his high school sweetheart, Lori, who is a CPA in Lubbock. They have a one-year-old son.
You can catch James Monday through Friday mornings on Good Day Lubbock from 5:30 to 9. He also hosts the Hub City Happenings segment Fridays at 7:15 a.m. on West Texas Today on AM 950-100.7 FM.
