The Tyler, Texas native came to Lubbock in 2009 to attend Texas Tech University after a year at Stephen F. Austin State University where she studied in theater. She graduated from Tech in 2011 with a major in news-editorial journalism.
Telling a story has always been natural for Katherine. She anchored her intermediate school’s weekly news show for a year. In high school she held leadership positions in theater, cheerleading and student council.
An introduction to mass communications class at Stephen F. Austin sparked her interest in news. Although she is a writer, she finds the broadcast side of news very exciting.
The proud Red Raider has been a part of Chi Omega Sorority and the Texas Tech Daily Toreador.
Katherine is happy to be living and working in West Texas. With the little free-time she has outside of school and work, Katherine likes to cook, travel, spend time with friends and make the trek back to East Texas to visit family.
