A program that started at the beginning of the school year is now coming to its completion for thousands of Lubbock ISD students.

Marathon Kids has challenged thousands of students at 16 different schools to keep a running and food log. The ultimate goal is to learn healthier eating habits and complete a full marathon over the course of the school year.

The challenge comes to an end at 9:30 a.m. Saturday with a final lap celebration at the Coronado High School Willie McCool Track & Field. Participating students and their families are encouraged to attend.
