Ramar Communications offered the following statement regarding DISH Network:

“DISH will no longer be carrying our stations” said President and GM Brad Moran. "Dish subscribers will lose 4 of their local stations. These are FOX34, Lubbock’s CW, My Lubbock TV, and Telemundo Lubbock. After months of negotiations between Ramar Communications and Dish Network, agreement could not be reached today, the final day of the current agreement. As a result, Dish customers will not be able to see American Idol, Fox34 News @Nine, Good Day Lubbock, Ag Day Lubbock, Glee, and more."

Moran added, “We are sorry for the interruption of our service to our viewers, and we hope this will be resolved in a timely manner. In the meantime, the stations are all available through the eight other cable and satellite providers in Lubbock as well as an antenna.”

The eight providers are:

  • SuddenLink
  • AT&T U’verse
  • NTS
  • Direct TV
  • Northland Communications

Rabbit ears don't work very well in Levelland. Guess we will do without American Idol, Bones, etc. At least ABC, CBS and NBC let you see their shows on Hulu a day or so later, but not American Idol. Guess, we will enjoy watching KCBD 11 for our news, weather and info. Bye 34.

I will make this a viral event. I want Ramar to see what social media will do. Triple the $$$$. Talk about greed. And if this not the case,Please Brad tell us your side and why you cant reach an agreement with Dish! Such a disappointment.

I initially thought Dish was to blame, but they are not. Ramar is asking for triple the $ amount they have been receiving. Shame on you Ramar, shame on you.

Well...on the Terk antenna, they have a limited distance that they work from. An inexpensive uhf antenna will work fine. Cable or satellite, your trusting someone else to get you local weather. On the channel negotiations, short of using just antenna to get tv, ALL providers are subject to this happening. A few years ago Dish had issues with FOX Networks and had them off for a month. In that time, thousands of customers switched to other providers. In the Northeast region of the country there is a rather large cable provider that had the same issue with FOX the day after it got cleared up with Dish and programming was continued. I think about all those Dish customers that switched that month to that particular cable company just to lose the same channels for another month. These stupid things are unavoidable. The networks want more money, the providers don't want to pay as to not pass on the cost The networks say the providers suck, the providers say the networks suck, and it goes on with the customer in the middle. I'm not taking sides, just saying it's a fact of television life. I'm in the satellite business. i can make money from this. However, if I were asked. I would say stay with the provider you have unless you just have major issues. The network thing is NOT a reason to go through all the changes lest it follows you to whomever you switch to. It can and will happen again but it will get resolved.

Ramar what about your advertisers, you sell time for viewers to see. Now how many thousands of customers are not going to see paid advertising be ause of your greed. Dish is also greedy and because of this as soon as my contract is up which is soon I am going to have dish remove the equipment attached and inside my house and revert to the Internet, local antenna and a TiVo system. Goodbye dish, Ps. It time for yours share holders to take a small hit in this ecommony

Instead of showing us the options why not show us what you are doing to solve the problem I think what you fail to understand is that most satellite companies require you to sign a 2 year agreement If you are not happy with the service then you are stuck. This is just another example of giant corporations controlling are life. People around here are always saying they are scared of the goverment controlling there lives but I think its the banks and the huge corporations that we need to worry about. Besides I can just download the shows on the internet so nobody makes any money.

I am sick and tired of every few months you drop channels from my lineup and all I get from Dish Network is "Not Our Fault". This is no way to treat your customers. You need to take care of your customers and quit making excuses. When you stopped showing the AMC channels because of contract disagreements I almost canceled your service then. This is the last straw...

Sooo disappointed in Ramar Communications! You should be ashamed of yourself for being so GREEDY. You are losing NOTHING while your neighbors/viewers in surrounding areas are going without, because of that GREED! You list eight other carriers of your station, but what you don't realize that some of us don't have access to any of those options, we would have to pay Dish a huge fee to get out of our contract or if Dish agrees to your GREEDY demands, they will just pass on that cost to us. Sounds like money is more important to you than your neighbors/viewers, which is not ok with this neighbor/viewer. So, if a deal is reached between you and Dish, I will NEVER tune in to your channels and will boycott your station nor will I encourage my company to continue to do advertising business with you. I can't in good conscience support a station that couldn’t care less about me! I certainly can live without Ramar Communications!

Who really cares. Those channels didn't have anything on them worth watching. So I say good riddance....

A Terk antenna and diplexer on Dish works great if you are relatively close to the source Liberty Seeker. However doesn't work in rural rural areas. Signal is weakened to severe to use that method. It has nothing to do with people willing to push the source/input switch.
