Gas prices in Lubbock have dropped below $3 for the first time in a long time.

Most stations in Lubbock have shown a price of around $2.98. Charles Bolton of Bolton Oil said his company has not sold gas this cheap since June of 2012.

"We have lots of comments, when gas goes up or when it goes down," Bolton said. "But when it gets to a milestone like below three dollars, that gets people excited, they do talk about it."

Be thankful you are here and not in California. Unleaded regular was $4.09 in Los Angeles Wednesday.
