Cargill workers transferred from the idled Plainview plan to the company's plan in Friona are getting some help with the commute.

Spartan Public Transportation is now offering bus service for about 70 plant employees making the 150-mile round trip from Plainview. Representatives from Cargill, Spartan, and the city of Plainview arranged the service. The Texas Department of Transportation purchased the two buses.

Specially-trained Cargill employees will drive the routes.
