November's increase marked the 22nd straight month of growth in the Lubbock Economic Index.

The largest positive factor was employment.

"To hit some of the high points, retail sales are up 5.4 percent. Unemployment sits at about 4.5 percent in Lubbock. That's number four in the state of Texas. You compare that to a 6.2 percent unemployment for Texas and 7.2 for the nation," James Arnold, Senior Vice President of Lubbock National Bank, said.

Arnold said another strong rate of growth for Lubbock was housing.
