Lubbock among country's fastest growing metro areas

Texas metros are topping the list of fastest-growing economies this year. According to a report released by the U.S. Conference of Mayors, metro economies account for more than 90% of gross domestic product and nearly 86% of the U.S. population and jobs.

Lubbock comes in at 65th on the list of metro areas. In 2012 Lubbock had 1.9% economic growth. That number at 2.2% in 2013 and is projected in 2014 to have a 4.3% economic growth.
