2 cups flour, plus more for rolling

1 teaspoon sugar

1 Tablespoon baking powder

8 Tablespoons butter, cold and cubed

3/4 cup milk

Stir flour, sugar, and baking powder together. Using a mixer, pastry cutter or fork, mix the cold butter in the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles cornmeal.

Add 1/4 cup of milk at a time, and mix.

Turn dough out onto floured surface. Roll the dough out. It should be about 1/4 inch thick. Cut biscuits out with large circle cookie cutter. Place biscuits on a parchment lined baking sheet.

Bake 450* for 15 to 17 minutes. Makes 6 to 8 biscuits, depending on the size of your cookie cutter.

3 ounces ground beef

1 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon salt

3 Tablespoons flour

1 1/4 cup milk

Brown beef in pan for about five minutes with salt and pepper.

Sprinkle flour over beef, and toss to coat. Cook for one minute.

Stir in milk, and cook over low until thick and bubbly, about 10 minutes.
