Christmas Cookie Mix (for one jar)

1 1/3 cup all purpose flour, spooned into measuring cup & leveled
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup cooking oats
3/4 cup m&ms
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup white sugar
One quart mason jar. 

Mix together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Stack ingredients in the mason jar in the following order: 
-Flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt mixture
-Oats
-M&Ms
-Chocolate chips
-Brown sugar
-White sugar

Pack each level down with a rubber spatula. Pack it tightly so it will all fit. 
The ingredients should fill the jar all the way to the lid.
Decorate the jar with ribbon, gift tags, or get creative! Be sure to attach the directions below, so the receiver can make the cookies at their leisure. 


How to make cookies:

1 jar Christmas cookie mix
1 slightly beaten egg
1/2 cup butter (melted slightly in the microwave)
1 teaspoon vanilla

Mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients. Use the back of a large spoon to work it all together. If the mix is very dry, pack it together with your hands. 
Roll dough into balls, and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. 
Bake at 350* for 10 minutes.
