To continue our tribute to American agriculture in conjunction with Independence Day, we introduce you to a local producer who is proud to be an American and a West Texas.

"I'm Tom Sell. I produce beef cattle and cotton and sorghum and some other crops on our farm out south of Petersburg," Sell said. "I love being an American because this is the greatest nation in the history of mankind for its freedoms, for the opportunity that any individual has to make their way, and for its charity. You know we are a society that's good to everyone. And it's that heritage that we need to work and preserve to pass on better to those generations that will come after than it was passed on to us. So I am very proud to be an American and proud to be a West Texan involved in agriculture in America."

We want to wish America a very happy birthday and we will bring you more local patriotic producers throughout the month of July.
