We continue our series on appreciating the American farmer and agriculture this morning by introducing you to a local producer that tells us why he most loves our country. We introduce you to Dr. Dan Krieg.
"I've been farming in Lubbock County since '86," Dan Krieg, Ph.D., said. "I have three farms that I have in Lubbock County. Cotton has been the primary crop. The past couple of years I've been putting grain sorghum on my dry land. I'm proud to be an American and especially a farmer because we are the source of food and fiber for the entire world. And your food doesn't come from United, it comes off of a farm and the American public needs to know that, and they should know that. But many still don't know that even right in Lubbock. I grew up on a farm, it's in my blood and I enjoy doing it. It's not been fun the past two years, but hopefully this year will be better."
