Feral hogs in Texas contribute to $52 million in agricultural losses each year, including rooting in Texas wildlife feeders and eating wildlife feed intended for whitetail deer and other animals. But, now there are some solutions on how to deal with it. The Texas Agrilife Extension Service has released a publication, "Using Fences to Exclude Feral Hogs from Wildlife Stations," to advise landowners on how to prevent feral hogs from invading wildlife feeders.
The publication outlines recommendations for fencing to keep feral hogs from accessing Texas wildlife feeders. Photos, a list of materials and cost estimates also are included. The feral hog publication can be purchased at the Texas Agrilife Bookstore Website.
