Approximately 280 kids attended this year's Hockley County Junior Livestock Show. Youngsters from all over the county got a chance to show judges what they've been working hard on for months.
Robert Scott, an Agrilife Extension agent in Hockley County, said this is a great opportunity for the kids.
"The stock shows really help kids as far as developing their responsibility and sportsmanship," Scott said.
The kids were proud of their hard work and the responsibility that goes into a show.
"We have to feed them, walk them and we have to wash them," Kennedy Wood, a participant said. "Washing them is really one of the things that I enjoy the most."
Sutton Senter, another participant in the show, said his favorite part of the show is having fun.
"I like walking the pigs around and getting to see all of my friends," Senter said.
