The USDA Farm Service Agency offers a guaranteed loan program to make extending credit a bit easier for both lenders and producers.
Our Eddie Griffis told us how we can find out more about the program.
"The Farm Service Agency will be offering webinars for those wishing to get guaranteed loans," Eddie Griffis said. "Webinars will be offered at no cost to participants. Webinars will be held November 7, 2013 through December 17, 2013. All webinars will being at 1:00 p.m. CT and will focus on regulatory updates pertaining to guaranteed loans, making and servicing. Participants will need computer speakers and a microphone to participate. A lot of producers in this area do acquire guaranteed loans, also lenders get those loans. Again you have November 7, 2013 to do that through December 17, 2013, January 15, 2014 and February 20, 2014. The guaranteed loan program is a good program and a good way for banks to continue extending credit to viable agriculture producers while mitigating the risk that the financial institution assumes. So again if you would like to participate and know what the new regulations are for the guaranteed program, go to the FSA website for more information."
