Opening day of dove season is just days away. Our Eddie Griffis reminds us of a few things hunters should keep in mind before the hunting season gets started.

"I know a lot of hunters out there getting very excited for the dove season. It really kicks off the hunting season. When you have that Labor Day weekend and you are able to go out and hunt dove, with the recent rainfall and the grain that's around the area that should make for a very good dove season. Texas Parks & Wildlife is expecting a good dove season, just make sure that you go get your license. And make sure you're legal before you go out and start hunting dove. Make it an enjoyable experience, especially on a year like this where we do have the grain available around the area to hunt dove. And also get permission from those landowners before you go out and hunt."

For more information for the producer and the consumer be sure to catch Eddie weekdays on West Texas Ag Life starting at 1 p.m. on AM 950, 100.7 FM.
