Producers needing extra information about livestock management in the continuing Texas drought are in luck. Our Eddie Griffis fills us in on an upcoming beef cattle event where producers can learn valuable information about maintaining their herd.
"If anybody is looking for a beef cattle range workshop, there's one that will be scheduled for August 28 in Snyder. Dr. Calvin Trossle, our Extension Agronomist, also Ted McCollum Extension Beef Specialist will be speaking at this workshop. It will be in Snyder and again that will be August 28. It will be sponsored by Agrilife offices in Scurry, Borden, Garza, Kent, Lynn and Mitchell Counties. But if you're wanting to go to a really good workshop about cattle, beef cattle and the challenges that we face in this day and time, especially coming off of drought conditions going in to winter and the availability of a food source out there you can go to this workshop. Speakers will be discussing forage availability, stocking rates and restocking and small grain forages. It will be from 8:30 a.m. To 1:00 p.m. In the Scurry Coliseum there in Snyder."
