Our Eddie Griffis brings us three different opportunities you have this weekend to get out and support the 2013 AgTexas Tractor Drive.
"AgTexas Farm Credit still has the tractor drive going on for 2013. It's driving hunger out of rural Texas. Three Lubbock area high school FFA chapters will be conducting fundraiser events this weekend to support the Texas Food Bank Network and the local food pantries. Ropes FFA Chapter in Ropesville will be operating a concession stand at the Friday night football game, September 13 Ropes Eagles vs. Ira Bulldogs. All net proceeds will go to fight hunger as part of the AgTexas Tractor Drive. Shallowater FFA will also be operating a concession stand at the Friday night game September 13 featuring the Shallowater Mustangs playing the Midland Greenville Rangers. Net proceeds will go to support the Texas Food Bank Network and local pantries. Ralls on Saturday September 14 the Ralls FFA chapter will raise funds at the 18th annual Cotton Boll Festival located on the town square in Ralls, Texas. This is an all day event that includes a pancake breakfast, arts and crafts booth, car show, quilt show, entertainment all day with the Miss Cotton Boll pageant and street dance scheduled for the evening. The 2013 AgTexas Tractor Drive features a John Deere tractor that is visiting rural communities in a 23 county area in western and central Texas. The drive has been established to raise awareness for food insecurity in rural Texas while promoting FFA chapter events raising funds for the Texas Food Bank Networks. So go out and help support these local area FFAs."
